On March 21, 2012, I began using Isagenix. A couple days before my product arrived, I read that I could have NO coffee on the program. You must be kidding!! I have been drinking coffee consistently for 40 years! There is no way this girl can get going without her coffee! I LOVE coffee and besides, isn't a little coffee good for you? The founder of Isagenix stated that after 7 years of research, it has been found that it slows and in many cases stops weight loss. Well, I WAS committed, right? I thought, okay, I can do this. For the next three days, I went from 2 1/2 mugs to 0. I'll admit, I wasn't very happy about it while I was weaning off but, I am here to tell you, I have not missed the smell or the taste since day one.
The first day on program, I felt a little confused and overwhelmed. I kept my chart (cheat sheet) with me at all times making sure I did everything I was supposed to do. Upon awakening, I drank 4 oz. of Ionix Supreme (I refer to it as my coffee). It wakes me up and gives me energy to "get going". I had purchased the Pacesetter package and it was loaded with goodies. I would recommend it for anyone who begins the program as their first order. Besides the Ionix Supreme, you get 4 large canisters of shake powder (chocolate and vanilla), a variety of yummy bars (fiber and meal replacement), Isacakes (a delicious oatmeal type cookie with cranberries), decadent dark chocolate pieces, "want more energy" (a powder to put into your bottle of water), and a wonderful little powerful blender. I couldn't believe that was all for me for the next 30 days. Also included was a packet of books, my bible (cheat sheet) and 3 Cd's. I highly recommend you read all the info included before beginning as I probably would not have felt as overwhelmed.
It was now time for breakfast (my first shake). I chose the chocolate and it was absolutely delicious. I put 7 oz water and 1 oz crushed ice and blended. Mid morning, I chose an Isacake and it was so chewy and yummy, I wanted more. I took my first accelerator tablet to boost energy and rev my metabolism. By this time, I was on my third bottle of water. Lunch was a small 80 calorie Greek yogurt and a salad loaded with fresh veggies and topped with 1/2 of a large chicken breast that I had prepared the night before. I found a fabulous organic raspberry vinaigrette dressing that is 35 calories per serving. It is recommended that you eat mostly organic veggies and I always purchase the organic chicken in the greenwise section at Publix, too. Mid afternoon, I chose 2 pieces of the dark chocolate. You will think you died and went to heaven, it is so decadent. I took another accelerator tablet and had now had about 75 oz of water.
The evening meal was another shake. I tried the vanilla but added a few ingredients. While on the weight loss plan, you are not allowed to add fruit, so I added cinnamon, pumpkin pie seasoning, a dash of vanilla flavoring and a package of stevia. OMG, it was a delicious chai shake! Be sure you do not use any artificial sweetener or sugar, only stevia. I was in the habit of drinking hot chocolate made with unsweetened almond milk and cocoa every night before bedtime, so that evening, I had a cup of hot green tea instead.
Yea! I was very proud to have that first day under my belt. It was so easy and filling. I felt healthy and in control of my health. I did not miss my coffee or my hot chocolate. I love not having to think about what I am having for breakfast and dinner. I now love going grocery shopping. I spend most of my time in the produce department. My groceries are less expensive and my buggy is not loaded down with all those things my body doesn't need.
Continue the above everyday for 6 days and on the 7th day of each week, CLEANSE. A product called Cleanse for Life is included in your packet. Mix it with purified water four times a day and drink. It taste like fruit punch. There are chocolate snacks that taste like space food to eat in between your drinks. Once again, I was not hungry on the cleanse day either. Continue this for the
entire 30 days. There were a few days at the beginning of the program that I had bouts of nausea. I contacted my sponsor to ask about it and she said it is perfectly normal as your body is releasing toxins.
Your meal should be eaten at lunch for best results. You are allowed 400-600 calories and it should be as healthy as possible. You are flushing toxins from your body so be careful about what you are putting back into it. Makes sense, right?
Reminders: Drink half of your body weight in purified water each day.
Don't leave your house without your snacks and your water (extra).
