Day 40 on Isagenix

I am loving this program!  It is so easy and nutritious, and I am dropping weight and inches weekly.  I have now lost 15 lbs. and 28 inches.  Most importantly, I am building lean muscle mass with the natural whey protein, which is great for my body and I should continue to see weight loss.  When I began this program, I was a bit overwhelmed and  stopped taking my multivitamin and fish oil.  The products are loaded with vitamins and minerals and I wasn't sure whether I still needed to supplement.  When I placed my order for the next 30 days, I splurged and added the "Essentials for Women" with Product B rather than go back on my supplements.  The "essentials" are  high quality vitamins with increased calcium, silica and bamboo for bone health and additional herbs that target the special needs of a woman's body.  Product B is groundbreaking, a scientific breakthrough.  It is loaded with antioxidants plus telomere support to target the ultimate causes of aging.  It is a complex blend of 28 botanicals and minerals.

I feel amazing!  I know part of it is releasing 15 lbs of weight but it is a feeling that is hard to explain, it's like feeling wonderful and being high on life.  I cleanse every Tuesday and even though it is not my favorite day of the week, I feel empowered when I lay my head down at night knowing that I have accomplished it (without cheating) and will be healthier for it.  I must be honest about cleanse days, I wake up feeling sorry for myself that I will not get to eat a meal until the following lunch.  I try to stay as busy as possible and away from the house as much as possible.  Away from my kitchen, I don't think about food.  My mood is slightly agitated, I feel a little head achy and a wee bit nauseated.  Nothing that stops me in my tracks, just an annoyance.  By the early evening, I am feeling proud and excited for the next day.  (and grateful that I can eat for an entire week before another cleanse day!)

I have never been on a program that cleanses, so I was very unfamiliar with exactly how it worked.  The more I read and research, the more I realize that cleansing is the key to good health and longer life.  I know it is something I want to continue for the rest of my life.

A typical lunch (for me) on Isagenix

Today I will post a couple pictures of my favorite 400-600 calorie meals on Isagenix.  I try to eat as much organic food as possible.  I figure, if I am cleansing and detoxing my insides, why put unhealthy stuff back in.  My go to meal is a salad with all the chopped veggies I have available, and topped with grilled chicken or Hormel natural turkey breast (3 slices).  I also sprinkle 2 Tablespoons of all natural "Almond Accents" on top, they are found in the produce dept.  I have two favorite dressings that you can see in both pictures.  Sounds like I only like salads but actually, I have many other options that I have prepared.  Stir fry veggies over brown rice, salmon with sweet potatoes and a steamed veggie, like broccoli or asparagus, etc.   I always leave enough calories for my organic Oikos Greek yogurt.  I have a serious addiction to the peach mango.

If I am caught unprepared and away from the house, I sometimes have a "chick fil a" grilled chicken garden salad with vinaigrette dressing, I leave off the croutons and double up on the sunflower seeds.  To be perfectly honest, this will do in a bind but it is not nearly as good as I once thought.  Once you begin to eat mostly organic salads, nothing else compares.  A health food store that has a cafe or a raw bar is a great place to find a good healthy lunch and stay within the 400-600 calorie allowance.  Anything works as long as it is healthy and balanced and within the calorie range.

I will continue to share pictures and descriptions of my meals from time to time.
